Blade sat down at a table as his wife Allison began to cook in the kitchen.
"So anything special today?" asked Blade as he watched as Allison prepared cake mix.
"Cipher's birthday is today and I wanted to make a cake," replied Allison as a soft knock on the door alerted Blade and Allison to the presence of their grandchildren, "looks like they got here a bit too early."
Off topic: WIP short of a birthday party for Cipher, my birthday was on monday and I was unable to be on the comp on monday so I decided to make a short story today.
