Did you guys see the series finale to Arby N the Chief?

When you think back to its funny roots... And see where it went... It just got so dark.

I teared up watching the finale episode... And I felt the ending was not something anyone truly wanted but it was still a great ending given the dark mood of the last season.

Yeah, man. It broke my heart.

I miss them already. I wonder what Jon CJG will write next.

On second thought... The ending wasn't all that great.

It FITS in with the SEASON because the whole thing was dark... But it doesn't fit in with the show. The show wasn't supposed to get THAT dark, and I feel it doesn't do justice to the characters.

Chief and Arby never seemed like quitters to me. Despite not having ANYTHING going for them, they found a reason to keep going. First there was just them messing around, then Claire's wedding, then TOSERS, and then stopping Fragban 2.0.

Throughout most of this, Arbiter began to question his life's purpose. Maybe he was right, maybe there was no big purpose. But through little things like TOSERs... He GAVE it a purpose, no matter how temporary.

And Chief? He was too full of himself to kill himself off... And even so he followed Arbiter around trying to do something with his life (and not something grand, just something other than Halo and pr0nz).

I don't know... I don't think the ending did either character justice. They just... Gave up and it didn't seem like they were the type.

I felt the same way, but as a writer, I don't feel right questioning Jon's vision. He wrote the characters since day one, and although I'm definitely sad to see them go, I respect that he knows best for them. He did do a detailed blog post regarding why he wanted such a bleak ending, and I'll admit, it was a pretty good send off.

My fucking cat is messing with my phone. -_- I love him to death, but he's starting to enrage me.

I find the lack of Star Wars stuff on this board...disturbing...

Sorry my absence. I developed a terrible addiction to FIFA 14, Fallout New Vegas, and then school hit.

I've finally weened myself off the game addictions and I'm settling back into the routine of schoolwork.

Here's one suggestion. They could be UNSC/ONI mercenaries. A squad of Spartans sent in to do special jobs? Kinda like special operations, but maybe not quite as heavy. It's possible for them to go around doing joint Sangheili (Elite) - UNSC ops against other species, like the Jiralhanae (Brutes). If they get caught, they technically aren't part of the UNSC so Humanity is still clean. Like some hardcore CIA shit.

Even though the UN has banned the use of mercs in warfare in the present day (hence the rise of PMCs, which are legally not mercs), when you're the ONLY country there is (UEG)... You can do whatever you want.

I concur with John, feel free to go next Manny. My last post was mostly an attempt to get someone else to contribute, that and my sister was obsessed with Frozen and forced me to watch it.

Needless to say, she also pretty much forced me to type that, as she loves Bryce as a character .
