Eh. If you want, I suppose you can.

I have a specific story I've set out to tell though, so try not to interfere with that.

The world is relatively simple. It's set on a world with few humans, a lot of monsters, and human settlements are few and far between. If there's anything you wanna know, ask.

...Where would a Fallout story to?

Fallout generally leans towards being a game where guns are the primary weapon of choice, and you can play it in FPS mode.

But other than that, it resembles the Elder Scrolls, just a different environment.

Please don't take this the wrong way when I say this, but why did you feel compelled to join John's story?

I mean, I'm not John, and clearly I won't tell him or you what to do or anything, I am just curious. Some stories are meant to be cooperative, and others were meant to be solo'd.

I can't stress enough that I don't mean this in any bad sort of way, but wouldn't it have been easier to just base your own story off of John's universe, instead of posting in his story directly.

Collabs are fun and all, but they aren't the only kind of story on this board. If John is alright with it, that's great. If you are interested in doing it, that's just as well. I know you asked John prior to joining, and I commend you for that, but also remember that there is a time and place for everything.

Please don't stop on my account, it was just an observation I've made.

Holy Shit... Did you guys hear what happened in Boston?

It's like a mini 9/11... Seriously. I'm not joking. Although no one's sure who/what did it.

Do you have a link to an article? I haven't heard anything about it.

If not, give me the broad strokes, if you don't mind.

    Wow. That's truly tragic. Sad

Two dead, over fifty hurt, some in critical condition. That's a damn shame.

    Well then...

I see the rise in the number of bomb jokes has been quite... explosive.

    I have heard numerous jokes on the subject, such as;

'Have you heard about the Boston Marathon? I heard the dude in second place won by a leg... and an arm, and a nose, and...'

    or

'Rocket shoes were clearly not the best option for the guy in third place.'

Stupid things like that. Honestly, I am sickened by the cruelty of people during this time. Two people died that day, and while that is miniscule compared to other recent tragedies, they were still people nonetheless.

To have people idly joking about it honestly disappoints me, it's become a trend for people, there is no denying that, but it's still not right. The families of those injured or killed will never be the same.

Do as you will, in no way am I telling you to stop. I just hope you will think about the tragedy it actually was, and recognize the people involved at the very least.

All we can do for the people who were injured or killed is the following:

    Donate to funds.

    Keep them in our prayers.

Support the people we DO know who are suffering with all the zeal we can.

By being scared of the subject, or by stopping our daily lives to attack eachother or dwell on it or fear the monster who preformed the act, is, in some small way, CELEBRATING the perpetrator.

By brushing him off, we're healing. By cursing humor, we're letting those monsters see us jump from the carpet to the bed like children.

If you want to stand against monsters, then go on with your life, and help pick up the pieces. That is the only real way to tell the monster what we are as rational people. Otherwise we're giving the shattered, dark soul what it wants; to make us afraid.

I'm not afraid of humor, I'm not afraid of terrorism, and after 21 long years of being me, I'm SURE AS FUCK not afraid of the darkness that the monsters live in.

So I say, as long as it does no offense or harm, joke. Without tragedy, there can be no comedy. Sadness is the cost of being able to smile.

Well then, according to the newspaper, about 1 in every 10 people were Canadians there. People of lots of different nationalities were there. Dunno what point the terrorist was trying to make.

Anyways I'd like to apologize for my dark sense of humour. I knew it was too soon Jenny, it was too soon. I suppose making jokes is m way of dealing with stuff. I try to stay happy I suppose. I dunno.

I don't say fight the monsters by ignoring what happened. All I said is that there should at least be some acknowledgement of the tragedy before you joke, which is exactly what you said, and what the others did.

My words were not meant as an anti-joking policy, as I have made my fair jokes of tragic events. It IS how one copes, as you have said. I was implying that if you HADN'T taken a moment to think it over, then you should at the most consider it.

You can fight these monsters with joking, but at least having some insight into the bad side of it doesn't hurt either. Knowledge is power, after all. If it doesn't offend everyone else here, Manuel can continue, if that's how he copes. I was just asking for a moment of consideration is all.

Let it also be known for the record that I personally am not afraid of terrorism, and implore you all to feel the same, as John has said. My words were not meant in cowardice, if that is what you interpreted.

To be clear, I had no malicious intent. In fact, my humor was not meant in any way meant to make light of the bombing. Though there have been quite a few of them lately.
