SO, GENTLEMEN. As I'm sure you've all heard by now Halo 2 is going to receive the full anniversary treatment!

While not exactly recent news, it is something we haven't discussed. I created this thread mostly to have a place dedicated to discussion about it and to post any news any body may have regarding it.

I'll start by posting the trailers that have already come out, but probably sometime later today or tomorrow.

Do feel free to discuss anything related to Halo 2 Anniversary in the mean time, such as how you felt when you first heard about it, will it be an Xbox One seller, whether the multiplier be just as loved or do we look back on it with too much nostalgia, etc.

Hopefully it will stay just as it was. I loved Halo 2 with a fiery burning passion and I would hate to see it ruined with a graphical update, however, i'm not so sure how to feel about the reboot. Sure it may be cool, but I wasn't blown away by Halo Anniversary. It was awesome to see the game with the Halo 4 era graphics, but that took a little fun out of it. But that's just me.

Well Zman, I do believe you are in luck. The gameplay aspect has been left untouched, and so everything will work the way it did in Halo 2. Yes, that includes DUAL WIELDING NEEDLERS!

Actually, they've gone so far as to give each Halo game in the Master Chief collection their original multiplayer, so we will also see the return of Halo CE's original multiplayer (not what they did with CEA).

They've also said that all the DLC that ever came out for the Halo games will be included and that Halo CE will also feature the obscure PC maps as well.

All in all, I'm very excited as I do feel this could lead to a revival of Halo's "golden era", so to speak.

Oh, and if you're feeling really nostalgic... you can toggle back and forth from the original graphics to the updated one (much in the same way as you could in Halo CEA).

I have gazed into the maw that is the Gravemind. What I saw was the epitome of fear, flesh, and obscure poetry. If you have not seen the cutscene for him yet, I would suggest you wait until you get your hands on the disk. I was unfortunate to spoil the cutscene, but I assure you that it is badass, and made chills run down my spine.

This... is Halo's time once again. If 343's beta for Halo 5 Guardians, and the small additions to the cutscenes meant to tease Guardians go well with the community, Halo could very well become the greatest FPS Franchise again.

I was not spoiled. saw the original 10 years ago. sadly i do not have x-1 yet so I do not have access to hd cutscenes, golden hog, golden banshee, red sword, halo channel, or the blu-ray edition of Godzilla 2014 and I do not know why I added that part.

Taken from Homecoming, to avoid being off topic.

Shad0wChas3r wrote:I have a character that hides shotguns in an adult rabbit's costume, and he did it for the laughs. Don't mess with my x-1.

Besides, Walmart is going to have a bundle for the MCC and X-1 for 350$ US for Black Friday.
I think I might just actually go and buy the Xbox One. My Uni friends seem to be going for the PS4... but they don't love Halo like I do. The urge is too much.

My original plan was to get a PS4, and when Halo 5 came around to get a used Xbox One perhaps. Then 343i had to go and release the MCC... which looks just fucking beautiful!

Speaking of Black Friday sales... I was looking at something Target had online and it was an Xbox One with AC Black Flag AND Unity for $330 (take note, a PS4 is $450 in Canada) AND a $50 target gift card.

That $50 gift card would then be used (in my case) to purchase the MCC, which is among a list of a games that Targets gifts you a $15 gift card for purchasing. Basically, the MCC would be pretty much free!

I suppose I'd also buy a second controller because they'd be 10%. Perhaps some Xbox LIVE gold as well, assuming that my hoarded 2 day trials from Xbox 360 games don't work (for some reason).

The only issue is whether or not Target in Canada will be offering that same deal...

What was shown ten years ago is NOTHING compared to what the MCC collection hosts. The Gravemind from ten years ago looks like a fuckin' shriveled plant. THIS generation's Gravemind actually looks like the abomination that it is, and it's glorious!

The irony is that I pictured Gravemind looking like what it does now 10 years ago because 10 years ago I thought he should have looked scarier. Nightmare time.
