    Name: Johnson B. Williams.

    Alias: "Bad John"

Alignment*: True Neutral with Good Tendencies

Affiliation: None currently (Has multiple friends)

Personality: Very relaxed, laid back, enjoys drinking and partying. He is typically laconic and low key, but enjoys joking from time to time, and is a conversational sniper.

He's very flippant with money, but he LOVES treasure and trading.

He's incredibly helpful with those beneath him, and though he'll deal instant death in life or death situations, he can be quite magnanimous and forgiving.

He is a bit of a badass.

Appearance: Dark skinned, brown eyed, with frizzy black hair, he is a typical African American. He's a bit on the short side, 5'11", and is in relatively good shape. He wears a black leather cardigan, a black, semi bullet proof t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and dark framed glasses. He has durable black boots with steel toes. His most prized piece of clothing is a wide brimmed, brown and black hat that tends to shadow his eyes.

He wears a gun on his hip, and has a small derringer up his sleeve. He carries a dark green backpack with a bowie knife attached to the strap.

Weapons: He has a bowie knife, a derringer up his sleeve, and more importantly, he has a gun on his hip. The nickel finished, magnum revolver can fit nine bullets. The grip

Armor: His t-shirt is bullet-proof, enchanted by a Wiccan priestess.

Notable Possessions: He has a lucky, black cross necklace, and a wristwatch.

Skills: He is a fine marksman, well versed in handguns, shotguns, and rifles. His aim is best with handguns, but he can shoulder and fire a rifle with accuracy if needed, and has fine reflexes.

He's a decent hand-to-hand combatant. He's beaten bigger men than him in combat, but he as a few scars from fights that he's lost.

He can ride horseback, though he prefers walking, and has excellent balance.

Motivations: His motivations are the same as any man's. Eros, and Thanatos. He wants to have sex, and he doesn't want to die.

He is, however, very brave, and a risk-taker. He tends to go out of his way to help people, but he is slightly greedy, and will often go on prolonged journeys for treasure.

Notable Accomplishments: Ask to see his trophy room. His trophy room is GLORIOUS.

    Name: Luis Torres

    Alias: The Black Death

    Alignment*: Neutral Evil

Affiliation: Whomever his employer is, himself if unemployed

Personality: Luis is, in many ways, the opposite of his twin brother Eduardo. Luis is a bounty hunter, collecting bounties with no real remorse for who dies in the process. More often than not, his targets are brought back dead unless they are worth substantially more alive or the bounty requires the target to be alive.

Luis however, does not kill when unnecessary. He also specializes in reaping in the bounties wanted on criminals, big or small. Although law enforcement has issues with his methods, they have come to see him as a very useful tool when all else fails, especially when criminals are well armed and have large amounts of support.

Appearance: Luis has brown eyes, black hair, tan skin, and is in his mid twenties. Unlike his twin, he usually has stubble. He also has a scar on his left cheek from a knife fight long ago.

Luis has a very serious stare and can make most people feel insignificant when he really wants to with one look. Luis dresses primarily in black, with a balaclava to cover most of his face. This balaclava also has a skull image on it.

    Like so:

Weapons: Luis carries around two revolvers, and a knife with him for close quarters combat, and is fairly decent at hand to hand combat.

He keeps a rifle with a modified pirate spyglass attached to it, which serves as crude scope of sorts. He uses this for long range sniping, and is fairly accurate with it, able to hit opponents from full speed on horseback.

Armor: Luis wears a padded vest underneath his clothing, to protect himself from bullets. It offers limited protection, unable to stop a speeding bullet from close range but able to absorb bullets from long range because they have slowed down a bit. It also protects against bullets that graze his body.

Notable Possessions: Luis also has a black horse named "Bonita", which is Spanish for pretty. Despite his cold, hard exterior, Luis shows a much more compassionate side of himself whenever he talks to and attends his horse.

Bonita is a black Stallion, whom Luis stole from a stable that belonged to a notorious criminal. She looks like so:

Skills: Luis is one of the fastest gunslingers around. He can reload in a heartbeat, and put a bullet through the hearts of six men in the blink of an eye.

He is decent at hand to hand combat, and fairly proficient in knife fighting. He has no formal training however, everything he's learned coming from experience.

Luis is fluent in both Spanish and English, and an excellent horseback rider.

Motivations: The only real motivation Luis needs is money, although vengeance would be a pretty good motive as well. Occasionally Luis may combine one of these two with something slightly more altruistic such as helping defend a helpless town or rescuing a kidnapped person, but he would never do something out of the "goodness of his heart".

Notable Accomplishments: Luis is known for eliminating various bandit gangs by himself, and earning himself the name "la muerte negra" translated into English as "the black death".

    Name: Eduardo Torres

    Alias: El Protector, "the Protector"

    Alignment*: Lawful Good

Affiliation: People in need, law enforcement, employers (when bounty hunting)

Personality: Eduardo has a big heart and is willing to go out of his way to help others. He is merciful, forgiving, patient, understanding, and kind. He uses his abilities to help those who cannot help themselves, despising oppressors, slavers, bandits, thieves, murderers, and any other evil doers. The serious the crime, the less tolerance he has for you.

Eduardo will never kill a man in cold blood however, and fights only when necessary. When in combat however, Eduardo will not restrain himself and inflict as much bodily pain as possible without killing an opponent.

Bounty hunting is Eduardo's main line of work, although he only goes for the "big" ones whenever he needs money. Otherwise, he travels from town to town aiding people and accepting gifts of thanks. He then sometimes trades these gifts in other towns for items he may need. Eduardo is a fairly humble man, not seeking fortunes but rather just enough to survive and continue his work of helping people.

Appearance: Eduardo has brown eyes, black hair, tan skin, and is in his mid twenties. He is always clean shaven, and has this gentle "aura" around him. Eduardo just seems like the type of man you can trust and who is willing to help.

Women find him attractive but he generally declines their affection, not wanting to put anyone in danger due to the life he lives. When he's ready to settle down, he'll do so.

Eduardo dresses primarily in white, mainly so that people in help can easily identify him. He wears typical clothing of a cowboy, it's just all white with a beige vest.

    Like so:

Weapons: Eduardo carries around two revolvers, and a regular rifle on his back. He also has a shotgun on his horse, in case he needs more firepower in close quarters combat.

Eduardo also has a pair of brass knuckles to use in hand to hand combat.

Armor: Eduardo wears a padded vest to protect himself, and it functions much the same as Luis's (see Luis Torres bio).

Notable Possessions: Eduardo has a white Arabian horse, given to him as a gift from an exotic merchant whose life he had saved. Arabian horses are known for being among the fastest in the world. Although she may be a little hotheaded at times, "Estrella" will ultimately follow Eduardo without question.

Skills: Eduardo, much like his twin, is among the fastest gunslingers in the West. Eduardo is also an expert horseback rider, having taught his horse to do tricks, such as jump, bust down doors, or even kick enemies behind her.

    "Estrella"

He is also an expert marksman, due to his aversion to outright killing people. Eduardo will usually aim for limbs, feet, and hands, to prevent an enemy from fighting properly without outright killing them.

Motivations: Eduardo is trying to restore a sense of morality to the wild west, teaming up with law enforcement often but occasionally breaking the law to do what is morally right.

    Notable Accomplishments:
Eduardo is known for being one of the few bounty hunters that brings back the majority of his targets alive.

He is also known as protector to those in need making himself, ironically, the target of a large bounty.

I already imagine John and Luis not getting along. Mostly because it sounds funny in my head for someone with a country accent to say something mean to a guy named Luis.

"Goddammit Luis." John's normal reaction to Luis on any given occasion.

"Don't fuck this up, Luis." John giving Luis a job.

"Luis, you morbid fucker." John after watching Luis kill someone.

"God fucking dammit Luis!" John when Luis kills someone before John is done talking to them.

"Luis...I don't even..." John reacting to Luis saying something.

"Fuck off, Luis." John upon realizing he's standing within three feet of Luis.

"Thanks a lot, Luis. You motherfucker." John, genuinely grateful for Luis' assistance.

John and Luis hate each-other, or John just hates Luis. That is now canon.

Luis might find John incredibly annoying, since he has to put up with him (since John is presumably paying him).

Other than that, Luis may have a similar attitude to Alpha's regarding Beta.

"But, like, I don't a give single solitary fuck about who you are".

Oh, and Luis may rub some members of the group the wrong way, but Eduardo would insist he stay. Kinda like Darryl insisted Merle stay in the Walking Dead.

    I like that. Razz

Hold on. I'ma write up another character. I may as well have two.

I like the idea of someone using a sword in the old west, so I'ma run with that. Plus, I want to have a lady on the crew. She'll be partially inspired by the video-game Wet.

In a way. Take a look. Razz

    Name: Lee Mikasa

Alias: Pseudo Cooly, Weeaboo, Asia Girl, "Fucking Sword Swinging Psycho Fuck."

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral with Good tendencies.

Affiliation: Whoever pays her. She claims to be friends with John. John denies this claim.

Personality: She is wickedly cunning when she wants to be, but she is typically direct, bossy, selfish, cynical, sly, uncooperative, exploitative and confrontational. Her parents were killed when she was a child, and she was raised by Asian laborers. Training for years with her father's sword and gun, she is a prodigy at wetwork, and totally unafraid to flaunt her skills.

She is kind to children, and, while unwilling to fully trust anyone, she is willing to assist people in nobler endeavors. She is a kleptomaniac, and a treasure hunter, having stolen multiple times from John.

She is totally uninterested in men. She speaks fluent Japanese, as it is her first language. Though she speaks decent english, she has an Asian accent.

Appearance: She has shoulder length brown hair, and stands at 5'8". She has a curved figure, and well toned muscles from her training. She has a scar under her eye, and wears jeans and a tee shirt, with her sword and gun constantly on her back and hip respectively. She sports a straw hat that shadows her face, making most people presume she is Asian at first. She is Caucasian.

Weapons: She carries a sharp katana. She takes incredible care of it, oiling, sharpening, and storing it correctly. She also carries a low caliber, long barreled revolver, and a large amount of hidden knives on her person.

Armor: She has no notable armor.

Notable Possessions: Her sword is precious to her. She doesn't care much about her hat. She can make more.

Skills: She is a gifted swordsman, and can kill in an instant.

She has bested five men at once in hand-to-hand combat, and has fairly good aim with a pistol. Most long range weapons other than that are foreign to her.

Motivations: She enjoys ruining people's plans and schemes, finding pleasure in their displeasure.

She is also something of a pervert, and likes to meddle with people's marriages by bedding their wives.

Notable Accomplishments: She has killed a lot of people, and ruined a lot of marriages, and cost people millions of dollars, and come away from all of it with no bounty.

    Name: Zachary Lee

    Alias: The Reb', The Sergeant

    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Affiliation: Formally: the Confederate military, now: himself and his gang

Personality: Referred to as calm, but crazy by members of his gang, Zack knows how to handle himself in combat, but often jokes with his fellow gang members. Known to toy with his enemies, what should be a 30 second gunfight ends up turning into an hour long ordeal.

Appearance: Dressed in his old military uniform, one could almost mistake Zack for a soldier. The only defining features telling him apart are his long hair and beard, and a long scar running diagonally down his left cheek.

Weapons: Winchester Model 1873 Repeater Carbine
    X2 Colt Peacemaker Pistols

Armor: A hardened leather vest worn below his shirt protects him from long range bullets and some knives, but nothing else.

Notable Possessions: He keeps the Confederate Battle Colors with him at all times, and is know to charge into battle brandishing the flag in one hand and his Peacemaker in the other.

From his service in the army, and as commander of an artillery battery, Zack "commandeered" the Confederate Revolving Cannon and is know to use it, in certain cases......or often, pretty much always.

Skills: Zack is an expert marksman, known for his prowess as a sharpshooter in the Confederate Army. As a non-commissioned officer, he is proficient in small unit tactics and guerilla style warfare.

Motivations: Zack's primary motivation is simply revenge. During the war, he saw his hometown destroyed by General Sherman, his friends murdered by Union forces and everything he grew up with broken down. When the truce was signed, he and other disheartend and angry soldiers took flight and fled west, hoping to escape the Union soldiers and laws.

Notable Accomplishments: A highly decorated and skilled Confederate NCO, he had one of the highest body counts of the war.

Hey. This is a small point, but I posted my character in Character Bios by accident first. Y'all don't have to post in the character bios and then the sign up thread. That was me dicking around on accident first, then trying to correct myself. Razz

And yikes. Confederate Military, huh? O_o That could get awkward. xD

Well this is interesting, to say the least. I was going to have my sheriff character be a Captain in the United States Militiary *namely the Union*.

Coincidence that we both thought of bringing Civil War characters in, and based them on the different sides of the war.

I'm currently typing up this characters sheet, it'll be ready later tonight.

    Oh, oh MAN!

Let the "gringo" slurs fly like no tomorrow. If there's anyone who'd piss off Luis more than John, it'd be Lee here. Luis can't STAND racists, even if they are only moderate racists. Especially when they're "gringos".

Although, this does raise an interesting question for both Zman and Shadow.

Why is an ex-Confederate soldiers and a Sheriff/US soldier going on an adventure to rescue some girl? Luis is getting paid, and Eduardo is as well (and even if he wasn't he'd still go).

What's in it for your characters guys? Do they just need money (since John is hiring our characters)?

Oh, and I thought this was magic old west? Is this still the same Earth timeline, but with magic John? Or have things changed due to magical things here and there?

Zack's a merc, plain and simple. Sure he runs his gang off to the side harassing the "Yankees" and what not, but when someone pays him enough, he's bound to take the job

    *shrug.*

Let's presume that there was an equivelant, if not identical war to the civil war, despite this being the magic old west.

Magic isn't EXACTLY common knowledge, as most of it is just potions that people don't understand, and cheap parlor tricks. The magic that is PROPER magic (Illusions and fireballs and shit) is kept secret by those who use it, and life goes on more or less normally.

Also, Bad John is paying, and rather handsomely. Or rather, the girl who he's rescuing is paying him, and he knows he can't do it himself (for reasons that I'll make obvious in the prequel/first post), so he's rather begrudgingly splitting the take.

He EXPECTED a bunch of dumb goons who he could either swindle or "accidentally" lose in battle, but instead he gets a bunch of people as crazy as, or crazier, than him. He'll be pretty annoyed about that, but he'll play fair and pay up when the job is done, so it behooves the mercenaries to throw in with him.

Also, well first, i should call Lee racist, more like.....location...ist? anyway, translation: southern pride and damn the north. also, he does have some honor as a soldier left, and i am writing him as, while not liking that the "damn Yankees" won the war, he's fighting because his instinct as a soldier is telling him to.

That and the Sheriff/Marshall *haven't decided* might like to have the cash, but could just be a good Samaritan looking for some action for a change. Perhaps coming from a ghost town or the like.

I also figured we could justify this as the Earth we created for Heroes and Demons, only about two hundred years in the past. Not necessarily Metas, but Magic itself. Dunno, but I figured it'd make sense.

The civil war that happened in this world could have magic involved. Or I could ditch the idea of Union soldier turned Sheriff/Marshall altogether and make him a straight up Sheriff.

Well John said that magic isn't really too widespread on this Earth.

I think you should ask him before merging it with H&D. And after that, we'd need to take a group vote from the H&D side. I was never a fan of magic and science (which is abundant in the H&D universe, even if stretched a bit) mixing it up. Magic doesn't play by the rules Sad

Regardless, a civil war thing DID happen (according to John). So you two can probably stick with your Union/Confederate guys. Apart from that, magic is more or less in the background and not too widespread, also as John said.

Could be an alternate universe that closely mirrors our own. That'd put it in the same continuity, but with different "world rules," such as a prominence of magic over manifestations of Metahuman Powers. Sound fair?

I'm aware that I should ask before merging, but I never said it was actually so. I just suggested that it COULD be a way of explaining it, not that if SHOULD be *that is assuming that he was looking for a means to connect the magic into it*.

Under no circumstances with any of my posts in any collab thread am I trying to alter the story by any means. I would never do that to anyone :/ , as I would expect people to respect my collab if I had one.

If I came off as such, I completely and utterly apologize, I would never want to give off such a vibe.

Anyways, I'm still working on the character to make him differ from Bryce and Blaine. Something a little bit less... extreme.

It was just a reminder, before the idea was expanded upon further. I'm a little tired right now, so I could have misread the intention.

Anyways, maybe your Sheriff could be real strict about the rules. Always doing things by the rules?

The moment he's asked to bend a rule, he gets uneasy? The moment he's asked to break a rule, he has an issue with it?

That's my suggestion. Blaine is a super soldier that has a strong moral compass that doesn't necessarily coincide with the law all the time. Bryce is a troubled superhero.

I'm sure being your average joe is more than enough difference Razz

Exactly, anyone read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King? He's a gunslinger who does what every person in a western does; survive. That means they take no shit from anyone and do what it takes to survive.

My thoughts for this Sheriff are exactly what you just mentioned, but less of an average joe, and more of a mix between Blaine and Bryce. Paul *his name* will undoubtedly have a very strong moral compass, and doesn't exactly like to break the rules *even with a barrel to the back of his head*. But perhaps Clark has a much more darker side, not quite a Anikin Skywalker dark side, but like a 'I've seen some shit man, and some stuff' kind of troubled past.

I really want to think this guy through, and I'm adding and subtracting things from his character sheet at the same time. I'd expect it up within the hour, and if it's not up then, chances are good it's going to be tomorrow morning.
