    *Alignment is measured by two axis. One being the moral axis (Good, Neutral, Evil), the other being ethical (Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic). Say the character is a police officer who believes in his work. He would be Lawful. If he's a good man and uses the law to benefit his home, he is Lawful Good.

    If a person was an anarchist, he would be chaotic. If he was only interested in himself, and went out of his way to hurt people for his personal gain, he would be chaotic evil.

    Darth Vader would be Lawful Evil. Robin Hood would be Chaotic Good.

    A character like Zoro or Spider Man, with no real regard for the law, but is interested in helping other people, is Neutral Good.

    Then, you can have Tendencies. If Spider Man was conflicted in a way that made him doubt his cause, to the point where he outright murders people he sees as evil, would be Neutral Good with Evil Tendencies.

    There ya go. Alignments in a nutshell.

    Template master? I made like one template. I'd give that title over to Splazer, Morgan, or Vale.

    These alignments seem familiar to me. Is there a place on the internet that gives out "tests" for these types of things? I think I may have done once.

    He was pretty clear in the first paragraph. Basically this is where you post a short little bio about your character for the Adventurer's Lodge.

    Alias: Wanderer, Vagrant, Jack, The Goblin.

    Species: Human (Selkie)

    Alignment: True Neutral with Good Tendencies.

    Affiliation: Selkie.

    Personality: A relatively laid back, easy going person, John roams the countryside, looking for remnants of better times. He also seeks out remaining human settlements, documenting their locations in a small pocketbook.

    A problem solver at heart, he often aids settlements in rebuilding after attacks by monsters. If asked, he will even defend settlements.

    Witty, dry, and sarcastic, some would view him as a cynic, but he is ultimately good at heart, remaining positive and enduring years of solitude with a heavy, but stable heart.

    He avoids tasks too daunting, but has a grudge against the Lich, and would not hesitate to kill his creations, or face him himself.

    Appearance: He has very dark grey hair, deep brown eyes, Selkie markings under his eyes.

    Weapons: Dentum- A simple, straight sword with a dented and chipped blade, a worn leather grip straps, and a purple and yellow jewel in the pommel. Despite it's worn appearance, the sword is incredibly durable and sharp.

    The metal of the blade is very dark.

    Upon calling the sword's name, the jewel will glow and it will slide along the ground to John on command if he is near enough. If he is desperate or hurt, the sword will fly to him.

    Bow- John is proficient with a bow and arrow, using it to hunt for food. His number of arrows is limited.

    Armor: John possesses little armor. He wears a fabric tunic, dark jeans, a hat, and glasses. His tunic has the Selkie coat of arms stained into the front.

    He wears a pair of steel toed boots that are incredibly heavy. They do not limit his swiftness, but they prevent him from being blown away by harsh winds, keeping him comfortably anchored to the ground. He cannot swim in them.

    Notable Possessions: He carries a pocketbook with drawings, maps, and thoughts. It is, for all intents and purposes, a magic journal. It never runs out of pages, always opens to the section he's looking for, and will not open for strangers unless he allows it to do so.

    He has a leather necklace with a black jewel, a canteen for water, and a backpack in which he carries his belongings, with the scabbard of his sword serving as the strap.

    Skills: John is a remarkable fighter. Trained by a powerful Selkie General, he is proficient in swordplay, empty handed combat, and is unnaturally strong. He is capable of lifting and carrying two adult humans unhindered, and wielding his heavy sword and boots without tiring easily.

    He has some skill with a bow and arrow, but is only passable at best.

    His punch is feared by the Lich's minions, and he is referred to as "The Goblin" by his enemies.

    Motivations: While relatively aimless otherwise, John will relentlessly hunt the Lich, or his lieutenants, if given the opportunity. Revenge for the loss of his countrymen is often at the forefront of his subconscious, but despite his grim motivations, he is not without compassion. He will reluctantly allow his target to escape if more good comes of it.

    Notable Accomplishments: John led the Selkie offensive against the Lich, in an attempt to buy time for the Mainlands to evacuate. He saved many lives, but the Lich ultimately decimated his mercenary armada, leaving him truly alone in the world. Those who remember this deed regard him as a hero, but John only recalls his failure to kill the Lich, and his failure to prevent the deaths of his compatriots.

    John also brags of taking the heads of one thousand slow mutants, but this is likely hyperbole.

    An idea popped into my head, during a dream actually. I will store this here, not sure if I will end up using it though. If I ever do decide to pick up a different genre of story, at least this idea is here.
    Name: Manuel

    Alias: A red menace

    Alignment: Chaotic Good, evil tendencies

    Affiliation: Kingdom of Riqueza (former home), Protectors of the People*, The common folk

    Personality:
    He is generally in a neutral mood and tries to be semi-optimistic about things. He won't lie when the odds of something are slim, but he will list out everything humanly possible to increase those odds. He tries to make the best of things.

    He is usually very modest and would rather follow than lead, having no interest what so ever in being in the spotlight. It makes him uncomfortable, and he only steps up to lead if he absolutely has to. His opinions are well respected in his group, despite being among the youngest members.

    When it comes to outsiders, he is willing to give people a chance. Always accepting, but wary, he'll let you hang around him, but it takes a while to become his friend. With women he doesn't actively seek a partner like other males his age, often too focused on the big picture of helping people. He does get somewhat nervous around attractve women he doesn't know, but once he gets to know them he acts fine and continues on like nothing happened.

    In combat he is fairly brutal with his enemies, his brutality proportional to the weight of their crimes. However, he will never go to the point of killing a helpless opponent.

    Appearance: A short fellow, about 5'6. He uses this size to his advantage in combat.

    He has black hair and brown eyes with tanned skin. The beginnings of a beard can be seen on his chin, but he usually cuts it off because it doesn't grow well.

    He wears a red cloak with a hood, the image of a fist wielding a sickle stitched onto the front. This clock is typical of the members of Manuel's group.

    Weapons: Bow and arrows, toxic dips, short sword, intelligence

    Armor: Manuel wears a thick leather vest with chain mail on top when going into battle. He wears thick pants to protect his legs, and leather gloves to cover his hands from the tails of his arrows as they are released from the bow.

    Notable Possessions: He has a black stallion that he found injured and nursed back to health, he calls her Bonita.

    Skills: Skilled in archery, Manuel is known for his use of biological warfare. He usually dips his arrows in toxins meant to either kill or subdue.

    He carries your average short sword, and can use it surprisingly well. He had a couple of friends at an academy training to be Knights who taught him a few things.

    Being a smaller fellow, Manuel uses it to his advantage and plays it smart. He won't charge in there head first, but rather he'll target points of weakness on his enemies.

    On horseback he'll usually dispatch larger enemies with his arrows, using his sword to conserve arrows or for close range combat.

    When off his horse, Manuel is usually more stealthy and uses his size to sneak past enemies or surprise them.

    Motivations: Strives to bring about equality for all races, believing that everyone has something of value to give. Violent towards oppressors and enemies, but willing to forgive if they are willing to change.

    Notable Accomplishments: Manuel has a way with animals, namely horses, and is usually the one to go to if you want a wild horse tamed.

    He was studying at a military academy in a far off kingdom to become a healer. He learned about surgical procedures and medicinal treatments, leading to a vast knowledge on herbs and Human anatomy.

    Combining his love for animals and his knowledge of medicine has lead Manuel to develop many ways of curing animals. This helps prevent the unnecessary deaths of horses who would have scumbed to their wounds after being injured in batte.

    Background Info: (Extra Stuff)
    Before he could finish his studies his home kingdom was invaded, and the academy razed to the ground. Manuel escaped with his life, taken in by the Protectors of the People.

    They had arrived as the invasion began and they were no match for an entire army. All they could do was help citizens escape and rally the scattered remains of Riqueza's army to assist them.

    Manuel became a crucial component of the escape, healing wounded soldiers and Protectors as the citizens fled through the mountains while the Invaders pursued.

    Eventually they founded a small town away on the other side of the mountains, and the Protectors eventually left, satisfied that the town had a militia and knew how to forge their own weapons.

    Manuel joined the Protectors because he admired them and believed in their cause. There were other people who needed help, and Manuel knew he had been grateful when aid came his way. It was time to pay it forward.

    The Protectors of the People are a group of vigilantes whom ride from town to town doing good deeds. Sometimes they will help an old farmer bring in his crops if he needs some help. Sometimes they will provide escort services to caravans that are heading the same way they are. Other times they fight off bandits and help towns rebuild after raids, going so far as to train the men and women in combat.

    They find that by doing good deeds, they are usually gifted with what they need to survive. They do however sell whatever objects they scavenge, from armour to junk.

    They are in essence, a medieval twist on Communism. They believe that no institution, be it religious or the government, has any right to tell the people what to do. When people are given power over others, things get ugly.

    They believe that people need to stick together to survive, and that any bad eggs can be dealt with by the common folk. Nip the problem in the bid before it grows even worse.

    They do not "preach" their lifestyle, nor do they force it upon others. They reach out to others because they know everyone is a comrade, and that people need to stick together. Those who wish to join them do so. Towns that wish to adopt their lifestyle do so. Actions speak louder than words.

    They hold true to a basis of Communism, which is where everyone is equal and everyone works together for the common good. They do this in their own travels, where everyone works together to make sure everyone is fed, clothed, and safe.

    None of that totalitarian pseudo-Communist bullshit.

    Background: John was always a quiet young boy. Born in the hustle and bustle of a growing city, his mother felt it strange that he had very few friends. Maybe it was because of his father being drafted to fight in WW I.

    At the age of 21 he was walking down a side street when he heard the sound of gunshots. Not a moment later a man dressed in a black trench coat and an all black suit came walking around the corner. John turned the corner and found a SFPD officer lying on the ground dead. Fueled by the common disrespect for the law, and the people who uphold it, he joined the San Francisco Police department and was later transferred to Alcatraz upon its opening as a Federal Penitentiary.

    Biography

    Abandoned by his family, Sovay lived relatively unnoticed on Haruun Kal, using his force sensitivity to telepathically inspire sympathy in normally cold adults.

    In a recruitment of local youth, the Jedi Order happened upon the young man, recognizing a natural talent in him. He was taken into the order at age five, where he was trained to harness his talents.

    He once aspired to be a Jedi Master, and under the Tutelage of his Master, Ralek Xenn, developed impressive skills with mind tricks, force telekinesis, and saber combat. He was emotionally devastated when Master Xenn betrayed the order, leaving him to question whether or not Xenn's teachings were valid, and if he was truly capable of being a Jedi Master. This psychological blow would follow him, ensuring that he would never attempt to live up to that potential.

    He passed the Trial at Twenty Two, and became a Jedi Knight, leading a small Survey Corps to investigate suspicious activity and keep the peace.

    Sovay gained respect for his combat prowess, but his unwillingness to conform to the normalities of Jedi behavior have led to suspicion that may bar him from ever becoming a Jedi Master, but he is still generally respected, and encouraged to teach Initiates.

    Some fear he is walking a thin line between light and dark, making him a Grey Jedi. Ironically, due to his highs and lows, he sees the world in a perspective with more color than the other Jedi ever could.

    Personality

    Personable and wise, Sovay enjoys jokes, stories, and sometimes plays at his more uptight colleague's expense. He sometimes uses his advanced vision to cheat at card games, seeing the reflection of his opponent's cards in their eyes.

    He is very compassionate, and although he considers himself a bad teacher, he enjoys company and helping people train.

    In battle, he is well versed. During open warfare, when killing is unavoidable and necessary, he prefers to end battles with quick, sometimes dirty maneuvers. He is not without honor, however; during an earnest duel, he will allow the enemy to strike first, pick up their weapon if disarmed, and he will even pick up the funeral expenses of slain duelists, should his opponent have a family. All in all, he dislikes killing, and seeks any alternative, be them mind tricks, intimidation, apology, or simply frustrating the opponent until they give up.

    Sovay respects the sanctity of life above all, and kills only when absolutely required to maintain the balance of the force, or protect the innocent.

    Rather than the typical hatred for the Sith, Sovay is both fascinated by and pities them, a fact for which he is slightly feared. He studies Sith closely whenever he gets the chance, with fervent, excited interest. He takes notes in a small pocketbook he keeps during his travels. Determined to see the Sith in a different way, he keeps detailed descriptions of each Sith he encounters, and truly regrets wasting their lives when forced to fight against them.

    "SOMEONE has to see things from their perspective. If I can learn why the Dark Side is so pervasive, maybe one day I can cut their link with it. It's not wise, but if we all look at the issue in the same way, the Jedi might as well be blind."

    He doesn't realise it, but he's good with children. He is also talented at baiting people into childish arguments.

    Attire

    A strict non-conformist, Sovay sports black robes with short sleeves, and a wide brimmed, grey straw hat.

    He has a ring on his left middle finger that he won from his former Master in a card game. It is one of his prized possessions.

    Powers and Abilities

    A Jedi Knight, Sovay's primary weapon is a blue lightsaber with a black, leather hilt. Built after his Jedi Knight trials, his lightsaber is one of his most prized possessions. With it, he can block and return blaster fire with 95% accuracy. Like most saber wielding Jedi, he is said to be invincible against blaster-fire.

    In his offhand, he wields a Lightsaber Shoto, (A lightsaber with an intentionally shorter blade) for blocking, parrying, and in some cases throwing. It has a similar appearance to his main saber, bound with black leather and built of silver metal, with a dark blue blade. He can use his Shoto as a boomerang to eliminate enemies from afar. Even when disarmed of his main saber, he wields the shorter blade with little disadvantage.

    Sovay is a skilled swordsman, having trained thoroughly in Form VI: Niman and Form V: Shien. He can defend himself well against multiple opponents while armed. His true skill as a duelist is in Jar'Kai, a form utilizing his Saber and his Shoto, defending with one and striking with the other. He is comfortable using only one blade, but he is at full power with both of his sabers in hand.

    He has good gross motor coordination, balance, and strength, but he is poor at precise attacks, making duels with calculating, methodical opponents life threatening to him. Although he has fought off several trained Dark Jedi Acolytes, he was nearly killed by a single Sith who was using Form II: Makashi.

    As a Force Sensitive, he has an array of abilities that he has honed throughout his years. A talented user of the Jedi Mind Trick, Sovay can subconsciously impact upon unaware or weak willed targets with his thoughts, implanting desires, suspicions, or apathy, to give himself an advantage. His true talent lies in making eye contact with his opponent. If only for a moment, Sovay can force an opponent to trip up, feel crippling fear, hallucinate, or even totally freeze them, trapped in the fantasies of their own subconscious. Those with experience with resisting mind tricks are only slightly inconvenienced, but it can give him much needed time to strike, prepare himself for battle, or flee.

    Sovay's ability to lift, throw, or impact upon objects using the force is average, and he lacks creativity with his suite of telekinetic powers. He cannot lift and throw multiple objects at once without effort, but he can move heavy objects at high speeds. He is also skilled at shielding himself from force attacks, but cannot hold out for long if cornered, as he tires easily.

    He has some skill in hand to hand combat, and is capable of disarming a saber or blaster wielder if within range.

    All in all, in combat, Sovay is straightforward, and a force to be reckoned with. What he lacks in stamina he makes up for in surprise, experience, courage, and skill.

    Personality: Very relaxed, laid back, enjoys drinking and partying. He is typically laconic and low key, but enjoys joking from time to time, and is a conversational sniper.

    He's very flippant with money, but he LOVES treasure and trading.

    He's incredibly helpful with those beneath him, and though he'll deal instant death in life or death situations, he can be quite magnanimous and forgiving.

    He is a bit of a badass.

    Appearance: Dark skinned, brown eyed, with frizzy black hair, he is a typical African American. He's a bit on the short side, 5'11", and is in relatively good shape. He wears a black leather cardigan, a black, semi bullet proof t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and dark framed glasses. He has durable black boots with steel toes.

    He wears a gun on his hip, and has a small derringer up his sleeve. He carries a dark green backpack with a bowie knife attached to the strap.

    Weapons: He has a bowie knife, a derringer up his sleeve, and more importantly, he has a gun on his hip. The nickel finished, magnum revolver can fit nine bullets. The grip

    Armor: His t-shirt is bullet-proof, enchanted by a Wiccan priestess.

    Notable Possessions: He has a lucky, black cross necklace, and a wristwatch.

    Skills: He is a fine marksman, well versed in handguns, shotguns, and rifles. His aim is best with handguns, but he can shoulder and fire a rifle with accuracy if needed, and has fine reflexes.

    He's a decent hand-to-hand combatant. He's beaten bigger men than him in combat, but he as a few scars from fights that he's lost.

    He can ride horseback, though he prefers walking, and has excellent balance.

    Motivations: His motivations are the same as any man's. Eros, and Thanatos. He wants to have sex, and he doesn't want to die.

    He is, however, very brave, and a risk-taker. He tends to go out of his way to help people, but he is slightly greedy, and will often go on prolonged journeys for treasure.

    Notable Accomplishments: Ask to see his trophy room. His trophy room is GLORIOUS.

    Name: Luis Torres

    Alias: The Black Death

    Alignment*: Neutral Evil

    Affiliation: Whomever his employer is, himself if unemployed

    Personality: Luis is, in many ways, the opposite of his twin brother Eduardo. Luis is a bounty hunter, collecting bounties with no real remorse for who dies in the process. More often than not, his targets are brought back dead unless they are worth substantially more alive or the bounty requires the target to be alive.

    Luis however, does not kill when unnecessary. He also specializes in reaping in the bounties wanted on criminals, big or small. Although law enforcement has issues with his methods, they have come to see him as a very useful tool when all else fails, especially when criminals are well armed and have large amounts of support.

    Appearance: Luis has brown eyes, black hair, tan skin, and is in his mid twenties. Unlike his twin, he usually has stubble. He also has a scar on his left cheek from a knife fight long ago.

    Luis has a very serious stare and can make most people feel insignificant when he really wants to with one look. Luis dresses primarily in black, with a balaclava to cover most of his face. This balaclava also has a skull image on it.

    Like so:

    Weapons: Luis carries around two revolvers, and a knife with him for close quarters combat, and is fairly decent at hand to hand combat.

    He keeps a rifle with a modified pirate spyglass attached to it, which serves as crude scope of sorts. He uses this for long range sniping, and is fairly accurate with it, able to hit opponents from full speed on horseback. 

    Armor: Luis wears a padded vest underneath his clothing, to protect himself from bullets. It offers limited protection, unable to stop a speeding bullet from close range but able to absorb bullets from long range because they have slowed down a bit. It also protects against bullets that graze his body.

    Notable Possessions: Luis also has a black horse named "Bonita", which is Spanish for pretty. Despite his cold, hard exterior, Luis shows a much more compassionate side of himself whenever he talks to and attends his horse.

    Bonita is a black Stallion, whom Luis stole from a stable that belonged to a notorious criminal. She looks like so:


    Skills: Luis is one of the fastest gunslingers around. He can reload in a heartbeat, and put a bullet through the hearts of six men in the blink of an eye.

    He is decent at hand to hand combat, and fairly proficient in knife fighting. He has no formal training however, everything he's learned coming from experience.

    Luis is fluent in both Spanish and English, and an excellent horseback rider.

    Motivations: The only real motivation Luis needs is money, although vengeance would be a pretty good motive as well. Occasionally Luis may combine one of these two with something slightly more altruistic such as helping defend a helpless town or rescuing a kidnapped person, but he would never do something out of the "goodness of his heart".

    Notable Accomplishments: Luis is known for eliminating various bandit gangs by himself, and earning himself the name "la muerte negra" translated into English as "the black death".

    Name: Eduardo Torres

    Alias: El Protector, "the Protector"

    Alignment*: Lawful Good

    Affiliation: People in need, law enforcement, employers (when bounty hunting)

    Personality: Eduardo has a big heart and is willing to go out of his way to help others. He is merciful, forgiving, patient, understanding, and kind. He uses his abilities to help those who cannot help themselves, despising oppressors, slavers, bandits, thieves, murderers, and any other evil doers. The serious the crime, the less tolerance he has for you.


    Eduardo will never kill a man in cold blood however, and fights only when necessary. When in combat however, Eduardo will not restrain himself and inflict as much bodily pain as possible without killing an opponent.


    Bounty hunting is Eduardo's main line of work, although he only goes for the "big" ones whenever he needs money. Otherwise, he travels from town to town aiding people and accepting gifts of thanks. He then sometimes trades these gifts in other towns for items he may need. Eduardo is a fairly humble man, not seeking fortunes but rather just enough to survive and continue his work of helping people.

    Appearance: Eduardo has brown eyes, black hair, tan skin, and is in his mid twenties. He is always clean shaven, and has this gentle "aura" around him. Eduardo just seems like the type of man you can trust and who is willing to help.


    Women find him attractive but he generally declines their affection, not wanting to put anyone in danger due to the life he lives. When he's ready to settle down, he'll do so.

    Eduardo dresses primarily in white, mainly so that people in help can easily identify him. He wears typical clothing of a cowboy, it's just all white with a beige vest.

    Weapons: Eduardo carries around two revolvers, and a regular rifle on his back. He also has a shotgun on his horse, in case he needs more firepower in close quarters combat. 

    Eduardo also has a pair of brass knuckles to use in hand to hand combat.

    Armor: Eduardo wears a padded vest to protect himself, and it functions much the same as Luis's (see Luis Torres bio).

    Notable Possessions: Eduardo has a white Arabian horse, given to him as a gift from an exotic merchant whose life he had saved. Arabian horses are known for being among the fastest in the world. Although she may be a little hotheaded at times, "Estrella" will ultimately follow Eduardo without question.

    Skills: Eduardo, much like his twin, is among the fastest gunslingers in the West. Eduardo is also an expert horseback rider, having taught his horse to do tricks, such as jump, bust down doors, or even kick enemies behind her.

    He is also an expert marksman, due to his aversion to outright killing people. Eduardo will usually aim for limbs, feet, and hands, to prevent an enemy from fighting properly without outright killing them.

    Motivations: Eduardo is trying to restore a sense of morality to the wild west, teaming up with law enforcement often but occasionally breaking the law to do what is morally right.

    Notable Accomplishments:
    Eduardo is known for being one of the few bounty hunters that brings back the majority of his targets alive.

    He is also known as protector to those in need making himself, ironically, the target of a large bounty.

    Name: Zachary Lee

    Alias: The Reb', The Sergeant

    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

    Affiliation: Formally: the Confederate military, now: himself and his gang

    Personality: Referred to as calm, but crazy by members of his gang, Zack knows how to handle himself in combat, but often jokes with his fellow gang members.  Known to toy with his enemies, what should be a 30 second gunfight ends up turning into an hour long ordeal.

    Appearance:  Dressed in his old military uniform, one could almost mistake Zack for a soldier.  The only defining features telling him apart are his long hair and beard, and a long scar running diagonally down his left cheek.

    Weapons:  Winchester Model 1873 Repeater Carbine
                   X2 Colt Peacemaker Pistols

    Armor: A hardened leather vest worn below his shirt protects him from long range bullets and some knives, but nothing else.

    Notable Possessions: He keeps the Confederate Battle Colors with him at all times, and is know to charge into battle brandishing the flag in one hand and his Peacemaker in the other.

    From his service in the army, and as commander of an artillery battery, Zack "commandeered" the Confederate Revolving Cannon and is know to use it, in certain cases......or often, pretty much always.

    Skills: Zack is an expert marksman, known for his prowess as a sharpshooter in the Confederate Army.  As a non-commissioned officer, he is proficient in small unit tactics and guerilla style warfare.

    Motivations: Zack's primary motivation is simply revenge.  During the war, he saw his hometown destroyed by General Sherman, his friends murdered by Union forces and everything he grew up with broken down.  When the truce was signed, he and other disheartend and angry soldiers took flight and fled west, hoping to escape the Union soldiers and laws.

    Notable Accomplishments: A highly decorated and skilled Confederate NCO, he had one of the highest body counts of the war.
